A fifteen-member community panel has been formed to advise Oak Lodge Sanitary District on its long-range facility planning. The Master Plan Community Advisory Committee (MPCAC) was appointed initially in 2005 to consult with District engineers on the Master Plan that will guide development of future treatment facilities.
Many parts of the OLSD treatment plant are old, and some parts are in poor condition. Studies confirm the District’s treatment facilities will need significant upgrades in the coming years to assure they can continue to comply with stringent regulatory standards that protect community health and the environment.
The Committee is currently considering three cost saving alternative facility configurations that will meet the District’s future needs. The OLSD Board of Directors expects to reach a decision on the preferred alternative by mid-2008.
